Open Water Training Dives 1-3
at Haigh Quarry.

Be sure to come in to Scuba Systems to reserve your rental gear.

Pick up the gear on Friday. When you pick it up you will check it to make sure everything is there that should be, that your tanks are filled and the regualators and BCD work properly.

We recommend you stay overnight at an area hotel.

We will complete 3 dives today and one tomorrow. Then you can start on your Advanced Open Water and Specialty classes.

By taking the Dry Suit Diver Specialty class prior to the weekend, you will be able to do these dives in a drysuit. Then you complete one more dive in the drysuit and you receive your DrySuit Diver Specialty certification as well. And that also counts towards your Advanced Open Water class. And towards your Master Scuba Diver Certification!

Dry Suit Diver Part 2 - Open Water Training Dives
10am – 4pm
Haigh Quarry

A dry suit seals you off from the outside water. In the PADI Dry Suit Diver Specialty course, you’ll learn how to use a dry suit. And that keeps you warm!

Prior to class:
• Purchase class materials and DVD at Scuba Systems
• Complete reading and Knowledge Reviews
• Watch DVD

At your classroom/pool session:
• You will review the Knowledge Reviews
• You will learn how to don and doff your drysuit, and about drysuit maintenance and storage
• We will be in the pool practicing the drysuit skills that you saw in the DVD, such as drysuit buoyancy control skills
• You will also have the opportunity to reserve your drysuit for your training dives

At your open water session:
• You will complete two Drysuit Dives

If you are have taken the class and pool portion of the PADI Open Water Diver class, you can take the Drysuit Diver classroom/pool session and then complete your Advanced Open Water or Open Water Dives in a drysuit. That way you are toasty warm. Plus, you can do one more drysuit dive and you will then be certified as BOTH an Open Water Diver (or AOW) AND Dry Suit Diver in one weekend.

Must be a PADI Open Water Diver or Junior Open Water Diver (or hold a qualifying certification from another training organization) and at least 10 years old.

DUI DOG Days are June 12 & 13, 2010 at Haigh Quarry. If you are doing your Drysuit Training on June 12th, or are already a certified Drysuit diver at that time, you can participate in this fun event! You will have the opportunity to try different models of DUI Drysuits, meet other DUI Owners, and eat lunch. Tickets are available at Scuba Systems.

Wreck Diver Specialty SOM

 Ends on July 31, 2010 at 4:00PM
Wreck Diver Specialty
Specialty of the Month for August

You drift down and pass through a window into the past. As you near the bottom, a recognizable shape begins to form. First, you see a straight line, then a round window. Next, a ship materializes in front of you. As you look at the wreck, past and the present meet.

Whether sunk intentionally or tragically, whether a sunken ship, a plane or an automobile, the call of wrecks is nearly irresistible to divers. Through the PADI Wreck Diver Specialty course, you get the skills, knowledge and procedures you need to answer the call of wreck diving.

Wreck diver counts towards your Master Scuba Diver certification.
